One of this year’s biggest hit new shows is “Paradise”, which is set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs, and a high-stakes investigation unfolds. 

The show’s initial success was evident when the debut episode pulled in 7 million views in its first week across Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.  Shortly before the season finale, it was revealed that the show had been renewed for a second season.

Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin and Percy Daggs IV starred in the first season of “Paradise”.

The cast for the upcoming second season is starting to come together as Deadline has revealed that Shailene Woodley has joined the cast in a major recurring role.  With all the secrecy over the first season, it’s no surprise that there are no details on the second season, such as what the plot is going to be or who Shailene will be playing.

In the season finale, a storyline was setup for the second season with Sterling’s character heading out to find his wife.

Shailene Woodley has previously starred in the hit HBO Original series, “Big Little Lies”, along with the “The Divergent” films.  She also previously starred in the ABC show, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”.

“Paradise” is executive produced by Dan Fogelman, Sterling K. Brown, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, John Hoberg, Jess Rosenthal, and Steve Beers.

The first season of “Paradise” is available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally. 

Roger’s Take: Shailene has been great in many of the shows and films she’s starred in, so I’m interested to see what she’s going to be doing in the upcoming season.  Without getting into spoilers for the first season, I do wonder where Sterling’s character is going to meet her on his quest to find his wife.
