Disney has announced that the Searchlight Pictures film, “The Banshees of Inisherin” is going to be getting a limited theatrical release in the US on October 21st 2022.

The upcoming movie follows a pair of lifelong friends on a remote Irish island who find themselves at an awkward time in their relationship when one of them no longer wants to be friends.

This film will star Colin Farrell, Barry Keoghan, Brendan Gleeson, and Kerry Condon.

Martin McDonagh is directing the film and this is a follow-up to Seachlight’s “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”. He has also written the film and produced it.

Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin of Blueprint Pictures are producing the film for Searchlight Pictures and Film4. Searchlight Pictures has the worldwide distribution rights for the film.

Following its limited theatrical release, we should expect the film to be quickly released on Disney’s streaming services including Hulu in the US and on Disney+ internationally in countries like the UK, Canada and Australia.
