Searchlight Pictures “Poor Things” Wins At The Venice Film Festival
With the 80th annual Venice Film Festival coming to a close, it has been revealed that the Searchlight Pictures film, “Poot Things” has been awards the Festivals biggest price, The Golden Lion, for best film.
The film has been created by Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone, who tell an incredible tale of the fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter, a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter. Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn, a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation.
“Poor Things” stars Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, and Jerrod Carmichael Christopher Abbott.
Searchlight Pictures film, “Poor Things”, which will be released in cinemas on December 8th 2023, before heading to Disney’s streaming services at a later date.
