Searchlight Pictures is developing a brand new comedy film called “DNA,” which is going to be created by Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone, who will be the director and producer of the movie. He has previously worked on “Palm Springs”, “Knuckles” and “MacGruber”.

No plot details on the upcoming film have been revealed by Deadline, but it will star Ben Schwartz and Sam Rockwell, who are both executive producers on the film.

Sam has previously starred in the Searchlight Pictures films “Jojo Rabbit”, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and “See How They Run”. He has also worked with Disney on many other projects, including “The One and Only Ivan”, “Iron Man 2” and Marvel’s “What If…?”.

Ben has previously worked with Disney on “Duck Tales”, “Flora & Ulysses”, “The Muppets Mayhem”, and the upcoming film, “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice”. He also wrote the script.

“DNA” will also be produced by Party Over Here’s Ali Bell, Andy Samberg, and Akiva Schaffer.

SVP of Production Taylor Friedman and Creative Executive Cornelia Burleigh are overseeing the project for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Heads of Production and Development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.

No other details on “DNA” have been revealed, such as when it might be released and if it’ll be given a theatrical run or sent straight to Hulu and Disney+.
