Back in 2019, Searchlight Pictures released a new horror film called “Ready Or Not.” The film tells the story of what happens when a young bride marries into a ridiculously rich and delightfully deranged family. Her wedding night becomes her worst nightmare as she’s forced to play a lethal game of hide-and-seek and must fight to stay alive. 

The movie cost only $6 million to make but went on to make over $57 million at the box office worldwide, later becoming a cult classic.

Earlier this year, Samara Weaving revealed that there were discussions about making a sequel,

“I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in…I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”

At a special screening of “Ready Or Not” at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Searchlight Pictures confirmed a sequel is now in development.

It was also confirmed that Samara Weaving will return to star in it and that Radio Silence will also return to create the film. Radio Silence is a filmmaking collective consisting of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella.

Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak and James Vanderbilt are also returning as producers. Villella and Tara Farney will executive produce the sequel.  VP of Production Richard Ruiz and Creative Executive Cornelia Burleigh will be overseeing the sequel for Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Co-Heads of Production and Development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas.

No plot details for the sequel have been revealed, neither has any details on when the film will go into production or when it will be released, likely in cinemas first rather than being released on Disney+ or Hulu.

The first “Ready Or Not” is available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ in many countries.
