Earlier this year, it was revealed that Searchlight Pictures was develpoing a sequel to the hit movie, “Ready Or Not”, which is a black comedy horror film about a young bride as she joins her new husband’s rich, eccentric family in a time-honoured tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival.

The upcoming sequel is going to be directed by Adam Robitel, who has previously worked on “Escape Room” and “Insidious: The Last Key”. 

It hadn’t been confirmed if the original film’s star, Samara Weaving, would be returning, but that’s recently changing as during a recent interview for ComicBook.com, to promote her upcoming film, ” Azrael”, she gave an update on the “Ready Or Not” sequel and confirmed she’s returning:

“I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in.  I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”

Samara also teased that she needs to find out when the project will start production:

“I’ve just gotten home. I need to make some calls.”

Officially, Disney hasn’t announced that a new sequel is in development, but hopefully, we will see confirmation of the sequel soon.

While we wait for the sequel, you’ll find “Ready Or Not” available to stream now on Disney+ in many countries around the world including the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
