Disney’s FX and 20th Television Studios are developing a second season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series, “Feud”, which will be called “Capote’s Women”.
The series will be an adaptation of Laurence Leamer’s bestselling book “Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era”. It chronicles the tale of the famous wunderkind author as he stabs several of his female friends — whom he called his “swans.”
This brand new series will star two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts as Babe Paley, who ruled the glamorous world of New York society in the 1960s and 70s. She will also be an executive producer on the show. Naomi Watts has previously starred in “21 Grams” and “The Impossible”.
Two-time Oscar nominee Gus Van Sant will direct all eight episodes of this series. With Tony and Pulitzer-nominated Jon Robin Baitz writing all episodes and he will also be serving as showrunner for the FX series. They will also both be executive producing the series.
A worldwide search is now underway for an actor to play Capote, along with actresses to play Capote’s Socialite Swans, including Slim, Pamela, Lee, Gloria and C.Z. Another role currently in being cast is Johnny Carson’s second wife, Joanne Carson, a good friend of Capote’s who remained close to him until his death.
“Feud: Capote’s Women” is also being executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Plan B’s Dede Gardner, Tim Minear, and Alexis Martin Woodall. The stars of the first season of “Feud”, Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon, will also be executive producers on the second season.
Filming is scheduled to begin later this fall in New York.
We should expect to see the new series available on FX and Hulu in the United States, and also released internationally as a Star Original on Disney+.
The first season of “Feud: Bette and Joan” is available to watch on Disney+ in several countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom.
