Ryan Murphy Creating New FX Series ‘The Beauty’
Ryan Murphy continues to be one of the busiest producers for Disney as FX has announced he is developing a brand new series called ‘The Beauty’.
The show is going to be based on the comic book by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, which tells the story of how modern society is obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? In the world of The Beauty, physical perfection is attainable. The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes at a terrible price.
No plot details on the series have been revealed, as it may vary from the comic book. It has been confirmed that the new series will star Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope and Ashton Kutcher, though no character details have been announced.
“The Beauty” is going to be wrtten by Ryan Murphy and Matt Hodgson. Ryan Murphy, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich and Eric Gitter, are executive producing, along with Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope.
Production on the 11-episode first season is scheduled to begin this fall, possibly in November. The series is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television.
This is Ryan Murphy’s latest series for Disney. We only recently saw the release of “Doctor Odyssey” on ABC and “Grotesquerie” and “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” on FX. He is also creating another series with Kim Kardashian called “All’s Fair,” in addition to new seasons of “American Horror Story.”
As with other Ryan Murphy shows, expect to see this series shown on the FX channel, in addition to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the US and as a Star Original on Disney+ internationally.
