Rogue Voice Actor Lenore Zann Gives “X-Men ’97” Season 2 & 3 Update
One of the most popular shows on Disney+ last year was “X-Men ’97”, which is a revival of the iconic 1990s animated series that follows the X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.
The series has been a massive hit for Disney+ and was quickly picked up for two more seasons ahead of its premiere.
During a recent panel at the Indiana Comic Convention, Lenore Zann, who played Rogue in both the original “X-Men” series and also “X-Men ’97”, provided an update to Collider on the upcoming second season, which is due to arrive on Disney+ next year.
We’ve finished recording Season 2, and that will be coming out in 2026.”
Lenore also confirmed that development on the third season is also underway:
“I’m about to start to go into the studio next week to start on season three, so I’ve got lots to look forward to.”
The voice cast also includes Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.
The series is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso.
Just prior to the release of the first season of “X-Men ’97”, the show’s creator Beau DeMayo was fired from the series and is no longer on the project. No reason for the firing was given by Marvel. It’s unclear how much of Beau DeMayo’s work on the second season will be included, and for the third season, he has been replaced by Matthew Chauncy.
The first season of “X-Men ’97”, along with the original animated series, is available to stream on Disney+ now.
