One of the few new Marvel Studios heading to Disney+ in 2024 is “X-Men 97”, which is a revival and continuation of the classic 1990s animated series, “X-Men”.

Initially, the show was announced to be arriving on Disney+ in the Fall of 2023, but with Disney trying to spread out the releases a little to help improve quality, save money and reduce franchise fatigue, it was pushed back to 2024, though no exact release date has been announced. With the second season of “What If?” coming out over Christmas and “Echo” arriving in January, likely, we won’t see “X-Men 97” until possibly the spring.

The new “X-Men ’97” series will star many of the voice talents from the original “X-Men: The Animated Series” including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Alison Sealy-Smith, Chris Potter, Catherine Disher, Adrian Hough, and Christopher Britton.  The new show will also feature the voices of Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, and AJ LoCascio.

Earlier this year at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed work was already underway on the second season of “X-Men 97” and this week, Lenore Zann, who plays Rogue in the animated series, shared a photo on social media of her in the recording studio.

“LA, California, Dec 7, 2023: Happy to be back in the studio continuing to record Season 2 of ‘X-Men 97’ for Marvel Studios – this time in Burbank. Grateful to be back and I jes’ know y’all are gonna love our new show as much as I do.”

While we wait for the new “X-Men ’97” series to arrive on Disney+ early next year, you can catch the original “X-Men: The Animated Series” right now on Disney+.
