Just ahead of the release of the third and final 60th anniversary “Doctor Who” special, the BBC has released a new preview clip which sees The Toymaker facing off with the Doctor for the first time in a long time.

In “The Giggle”, The TARDIS takes the Doctor and Donna to the furthest edge of adventure. To escape, they must face the most desperate fight of their lives, with the fate of the universe at stake.

The 60th anniversary specials have reunited the Fourteenth Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna Temple-Noble (Catherine Tate) for the first time since they left the show in 2010.

“Doctor Who” is produced by Bad Wolf and BBC Studios. The series returns under the creative vision of returning showrunner Russell T. Davies, who also serves as a writer and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter. The 60th-anniversary specials are written by Russell T. Davies and directed by Rachel Talalay, Tom Kingsley, and Chanya Button, respectively. BBC Studios is handling the global distribution for the show.

“The Giggle” will be released on Saturday 9th December 2023 on the BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom and on Disney+ around the world, including in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The first two 60th Anniversary specials are also available to stream now on those platforms.
