Sony Pictures Television Studios is currently developing a new series for Disney+ based on R.L. Stine’s “Goosebumps” books, which follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together – thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries, and pasts with each other – in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.

The new series will star Justin Long, Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna, Rachael Harris, Will Price, Zack Morris and Isa Briones.

According to Variety, Rob Huebel has joined the cast of the new Disney+ series in a recurring guest star role, and his character is described as “a well-intentioned high school guidance counsellor who is about to discover the world is a lot bigger and scarier than he ever imagined.”

Rob Huebel has previously starred in Adult Swim’s “Children’s Hospital”, ABC’s “The Goldbergs”, HBO Max’s “The Sex Lives of College Girls” at HBO Max, and 20th Animation Television’s “Bob’s Burgers.”

“Goosebumps” is one of the best-selling book series of all time and has sold over 400 million copies of the book series, which spans 200 different books.

This new series has been in development since April 2020 and has a 10-episode order for Disney+. It is being written by Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman, who are also executive producers on the show. Rob Letterman will also direct the first episode. He has previously directed the 2015 “Goosebumps” film, which was also produced by Neal H. Moritz, who is also an executive producer on the series, along with Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Conor Welch of Stoller Global Solutions, and Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman of Scholastic Entertainment are also executive producing the show.
