Disney’s 20th Television is currently in production of the fifth season of “Only Murders In The Building” in New York City, which sees Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez return as the podcasters who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in multiple murders.

Disney has revealed that two-time Oscar winner Renée Zellweger has joined the cast of the hit comedy, though no character details have been announced.  Renée has previously starred in the “Bridget Jones” series of movies, along with “Judy”, “Chicago”, and “Me, Myself and Irene”.

Christoph Waltz and Keegan-Michael Key will also star in the fifth season, along with Michael Cyril Creighton.  Much like the previous seasons, the fifth season will also consist of ten episodes.

Disney also took the opportunity to lean in on the “Avengers: Doomsday” casting live stream, which was going on at the same time as the news came out, posting an image on social media of a chair with Renée’s name on the back.

“Only Murders in the Building” hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (“Grace & Frankie,” “Looking”). Season four executive producers include John Hoffman, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The series has been consistently well-received by critics and season four is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at 97%. Season three garnered 21 Emmy nominations, the show’s highest number of Emmy nominations to date.

The fifth season will premiere later this year on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.   The previous four seasons of the show are available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
