“R.J. Decker” Renewed For A Second Season
Disney has announced that the new original drama series, “R.J. Decker”, has been renewed for a second season
Written by Rob Doherty (“Elementary”) and starring Scott Speedman, “R.J. Decker” is a former newspaper photographer and ex-con who starts over as a private investigator in the colorful-if-crime-filled world of South Florida. The series follows him tackling cases that range from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a shadowy woman from his past who could be his greatest ally … or his one-way ticket back to prison.
The show debuted on ABC and Hulu earlier this year, making an immediate impact by pulling in 11.64 million viewers across ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, digital platforms, and linear encores over the first six days of release.
“R.J. Decker” stars Scott Speedman as R.J. Decker, Jaina Lee Ortiz as Emilia “Emi” Ochoa, Bevin Bru as Detective Melody “Mel” Abreu, Kevin Rankin as Aloysius “Wish” Aiken and Adelaide Clemens as Catherine Delacroix.
Inspired by Carl Hiaasen’s novel “Double Whammy,” “R.J. Decker” is produced by 20th Television. Rob Doherty serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman are executive producers, along with Carl Hiaasen, Jason Tracey, and Paul McGuigan, who directs and executive produces. Scott Speedman is a producer.
This renewal means that ABC has renewed all ten of its drama shows for the next season, which is a rare occurrence. Expect the new season to drop on ABC and Hulu/Disney+ in the new Fall/Winter season.
The first season of “R.J. Decker” is available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States, but hasn’t yet made its international debut on Disney+.
