Last year, Disney announced that three of Pixar’s films, “Turning Red”, “Soul”, and “Luca”, would be getting a limited theatrical release in early 2024 in the United States, and today, it’s been announced that all three films will also be getting released in cinemas in the United Kingdom.

Due to the pandemic, with many cinemas closed or suffering from restrictions, all three films were originally released on Disney+, so they were never able to be seen on the big screen.  But now the films will get a limited special engagement theatrical run.

Tickets go on sale on January 12th 2024 and will allow Pixar fans to see them on the big screen for the first time.

Like Pixar’s theatrical experiences of the past, audiences will be treated to a Pixar-animated short film ahead of each of the features. “Turning Red”, releasing in cinemas on 9th February 2024, will be preceded by the SparkShort “Kitbull”. “Soul’-“, in cinemas on 8th March 2024, will be accompanied by the SparkShort “Burrow” and “Luca”, which hits the big screen on 5th April 2024, and includes the classic Pixar short “For the Birds”.

It’s worth noting that the UK release dates for these films do vary from the US release schedule.

A trailer for “Inside Out 2”, with a special introduction from Amy Poehler and Pete Docter, will also play exclusively in cinemas alongside the three films.

All three films are also available to stream on Disney+ now.
