Disney has announced at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival, a brand new original film from Pixar called “Gatto”, which will be coming to cinemas in 2027.

The upcoming animated film will be directed by Enrico Casarosa, who previously directed the Disney+ Original film, “Luca”.  It will also be produced by Andrea Warren.

The film is set in Italy and follows a black cat named Nero. Indebted to a feline mob boss, Nero finds himself forced to forge an unexpected friendship that may finally lead him to his purpose.

Disney has released a first look image from “Gatto”:

No other details about the film, such as who will star in it, or its exact release date, have been announced yet.

Unlike “Luca”, this brand new movie will get a theatrical release, before heading to Disney+ a few months later.
