Disney’s 20th Century Studios is slowly putting together its cast for the upcoming untitled film about the founder of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe Herd.

No official details have yet been announced the any details on the film, but its based on real life story has been inspired by the story of Whitney Wolfe Herd, who co-founded Tinder but left in 2014 and launched the competitor, Bumble. When the company went public in 2021, Wolfe Herd became one of the youngest self-made billionaires at the age of 31. She stepped down as the CEO of the company in 2023.

The new film will star Lily James in the lead role and is also producing the movie.. It will also star Dan Stevens, Myha’la Herrold and Jackson White.

Deadline is reporting that Pierson Fodé is going to be starring in the film and will be playing a love interest of Whitney Wolfe Herd. Pierson Fodé has previously starred in “Out Of Hand” and “The Man Of Toronto”.

Ethea Entertainment’s Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay will also be working as producers on the project. Gala Gordon is also an executive producer, and Sarah Shepard will be overseeing the project for 20th Century Studios.

It is being directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, who has also worked on the script with Bill Parker and Kim Caramele. The movie is currently in pre-production and will begin filming later this year in Los Angeles.

It’s unclear if this film will be released in cinemas first, or if it will be released directly onto Hulu and Disney+.
