Disney has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming anime series, “PHOENIX: EDEN17”, which is an anime series adapted from an original story by legendary manga creator, Osamu Tezuka.  The new series is going to be streaming as a Star Original on Disney+ worldwide in many countries, including the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, on 13th September 2023. However, this series will likely be released on Hulu in the United States.

The series tells the story of Romy, and her partner, who left a collapsed Earth and traveled to the planet Eden 17 where they are looking to start a new life. However, life on that planet has already been exterminated, and Romi finds herself having to live an even harsher life on this new planet.

This four-episode season will all be released at once and stars Shintarō Asanuma and Ryohei Kimura.

It’s been directed by Shōjirō Nishimi, who has previously worked on “Batman: Gotham Knight”. Katsunari Mano and Saku Konohana have written the script. Tatsuzou Nishida is the chief animation director and Shinji Kimura is the art director. The show has been produced by Studio 4°C.

There is also going to be a film version, with a different ending, called “Phoenix: Reminiscence of Flower”, which is going to be released in cinemas in Japan on November 3rd 2023.
