Disney’s Pixar is currently developing a third instalment in the “Incredibles” franchise, which was announced at last year’s D23: Ultimate Fan Event.

In the first film, when Metroville turns its back on superheroes, the supers are forced into retirement. Now, Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl live undercover as the Parr family with their three super-powered children, Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack. The Parrs do their best to live the quiet suburban life, yet Bob Parr is itching to escape the cubicle and live the hero life again. When a mysterious offer leads to Bob in trouble with his old nemesis, his family is forced back into action and their super suits, in an epic adventure to rescue him!

In the second film, Helen is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack, whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.

Very little is known about the upcoming third film, such as what the plot is about or who will be starring in the movie.

But some new details have been revealed on who will be directing the third film. The previous two movies were directed by Brad Bird, but it’s been revealed that Peter Sohn is going to be taking over the directing duties. However, Brad Bird will continue to write the screenplay for the third movie.

Peter Sohn has previously directed the recent box office hit, “Elemental” and “The Good Dinosaur”.  He has also previously worked on multiple Pixar movies, including “Luca”, “Up”, and both “Incredibles” movies, in various roles. Peter has worked alongside Brad Bird on all his films.  Dana Murray will also be a producer on “Incredibles 3”.

The previous two “Incredible” films are available to stream now on Disney+.
