Paulina Chávez & Rose Portillo Joins “Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” Disney+ Original
Disney is currently developing a new version of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” for Disney+, which will star Eva Longoria, Jesse Garcia and George Lopez.
The film tells the story of 11-year-old Alexander Garcia, who thinks he has the worst luck in the world. When his family sets off on a road trip to California, he’s pretty sure disaster awaits at every corner. His anxiety only increases when a family secret is revealed.
According to Deadline, Paulina Chávez and Rose Portillo have joined the cast of the new Disney+ Original film.
Paulina Chávez will be playing the role of Mia Garcia, Alexander’s 16-year-old sister, who is described as an independent-minded, intelligent and eye-rolling teenager. Her parents are Frank (Garcia) and Val (Longoria). Paulina has previously starred in “The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia”, and “Fate: The Winx Saga”.
Rose Portillo will be playing the role of Lidia Garcia, the family matriarch, the mother of Frank and grandmother to Alexander, Mia and David. Rose has previously starred in “Zoot Suit”, “The Exorcist II”, and Marvel’s “Runaways”.
This new version is going to be written by Matt Lopez and will be directed by Marvin Lemus. The film is produced by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Lisa Henson. Marisol Roncali and Chelsea Ellis Bloch serve as casting directors.
Disney has previously released a film in 2014, which starred Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, and Ed Oxenbould, and is loosely based on Judith Viorst’s 1972 children’s book of the same name. The film is also available to stream on Disney+.
