“Only Murders In The Building” was one of the biggest original series to arrive on Hulu/Disney+ last year and follows three strangers, played by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one, resulting in them recording a podcast of their own to document the case.

The second season picked up just moments after the season one finale, which saw the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger. Resulting in the trio, trying to unmask her killer, while someone else tries to set them up for Bunny’s murder. But more interestingly, now the whole of New York knows who they are and think they killed Bunny, including the neighbours in the building.

I really enjoyed the first season of “Only Murders In The Building”, and the first two episodes instantly brought me back into the series, like it had never left. The natural chemistry between the three main stars is unique and draws you into the story. The mix of comedy and a murder mystery is a perfect combination. After watching the first two episodes, I can’t wait to jump into the rest of the series, especially as we get plenty of red herrings and misdirection to keep us viewers hooked.

One of the key pieces of evidence in the case is a missing/stolen painting, which allows the story to explore the history of Steve Martin’s character, Charles-Haden Savage, which I think helps expand his character. Plus, the cat and mouse adventures with the missing painting also keep adding to the story.

In the second season, some new characters have been introduced, with Amy Schumer playing herself, as she moves into Sting’s apartment, though this is the only thing new that I wasn’t sure of. This second season has also introduced Cara Delevingne as an artist that knows Mabel, but also introduces a new love interest and, more importantly, a potential suspect. Plus, many other well-known faces are featured in the series, which I think helps keep this a premium show.

Overall: The first two episodes of “Only Murders In The Building” jump straight back into the swing of things, so if you enjoyed the first season of “Only Murders In The Building”, you’ll love the second season!

The second season returns, with the first two episodes being released on Tuesday 28th June 2022, on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ internationally. With new episodes being released weekly on Tuesdays afterwards.
