Today, Disney released the finale of the third season of the 20th Television series, “Only Murders In The Building”, on its streaming services worldwide.  The third season finds Charles, Oliver & Mabel (played by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show. Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd) is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin (Meryl Streep), our trio embarks on their toughest case yet, all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together.

In the season finale, Charles, Mabel & Oliver race to entrap the killer on Opening Night. As the musical thrills its Broadway audience, the trio brave further twists & turns from behind, above and all around the stage.

As with the previous two seasons’ finale, just after the real killer had been revealed, the next season’s story is then set up with a cliffhanger of another murder!  We see Charles’ stunt double, Sazz Pataki, played by Jane Lynch, head off to Charles’s apartment to get some wine for the afterparty, but we then see her, lying on the floor, with a wound to her chest, and she starts to write something on the floor with her own blood, before the show cuts to the credits.  Leaving the show wide open for the next season’s story.

While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed if the show will be returning for a fourth season, the third season has been one of the most successful shows on Hulu this year, making the Nielsen streaming chart each week.

If the show has been renewed for a fourth season, hopefully, we hear about it pretty soon, as they will want to jump into creating the fourth season as soon as possible.  But with the writer’s and actors’ strikes impacting the development of the fourth season, it might be a little longer until we get more information, but hopefully, they can get everything organised so that the fourth season arrives next year.

UPDATE:  Disney has confirmed a fourth season is happening

All three seasons of “Only Murders In The Building” are available to stream now on Hulu in the United States, Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ around the world.
