“Mrs Doubtfire” & “Dead Poets Society” To Be Released On 4K Digital & 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray
Disney has announced that it will be re-releasing two classic films starring Robin Williams, “Dead Poets Society” and “Mrs Doubtfire” on 4K Digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on September 29th 2026.
This re-release will showcase the remarkable range that made Williams one of the most legendary actors of his generation.
In “Dead Poets Society”, for generations, Welton Academy students have been groomed to live lives of conformity and tradition–until new professor John Keating (Robin Williams) inspires them to think for themselves, live life to the fullest and “Carpe Diem.” This unconventional approach awakens the spirits of the students, but draws the wrath of a disapproving faculty when an unexpected tragedy strikes the school. With unforgettable characters and beautiful cinematography, Dead Poets Society will captivate and inspire you time and time again
While “Mrs Doubtfire” is all about a delightfully doting British housekeeper who’s actually a well-meaning divorced father in disguise trying to spend more quality time with his children without his ex-wife (Sally Field) catching on.
The releases will include 4K resolution, High Dynamic Range (HDR), wider color spectrum and immersive audio, offering the ultimate home-viewing experience. Both movies will be available in 4K for the first time on digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango. The 4K Ultra HD releases will feature new key art for both titles, and Mrs Doubtfire fans will delight in collectable 4K UHD physical packaging that showcases dual art of Robin Williams as Mrs Doubtfire on the outer sleeve, with a playful reveal of his character, Daniel Hillard, underneath.
With these re-releases, we should eventually expect to see the streaming version on Hulu/Disney+.
