At the D23 Expo, it was officially announced that Ewan McGregor will be returning to the Star Wars universe, with a new series based on Obi-Wan Kenobi coming to Disney+.

Shortly after the event, it was confirmed on the “Star Wars Show”, that the new Disney+ series will be set 8 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith.

It’s been over 15 years since “Revenge of the Sith” was filmed, so Ewan will obviously look much older, but no doubt they will try to make him look a little more older, since the series is set about 10 years before the events of “A New Hope”, where we saw Alex Guinness play the role.

This will also mean a young Luke Skywalker will be 8 years old, which is the around the same age as Anakin was in “The Phantom Menace”.

The series is due to begin filming next year, but no release date has been confirmed.
