Barack and Michelle Obama‘s production company, Higher Ground, has made a new deal with 20th Century Studios for a new holiday film called “Merry Ex-Mas,” which was written by David Bernstein.

Higher Ground was founded by President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama in 2018 to tell powerful stories that entertain, inform, and inspire— while elevating new and diverse voices in the entertainment industry.

“Merry Ex-Mas” begins with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus heading toward divorce court, including a custody battle over Christmas.

According to Deadline, Higher Ground is producing the film, which will be the first project not created for Netflix. It has previously made “Bodkin,” “Fatherhood,” “Leave The World,” “Starting 5,” and “Our Oceans.” Higher Ground still has a deal with Netflix, but it’s no longer exclusive.

No other release details for the project have been revealed, such as who the director will be or who will be starring in it. Nor when production will begin or when it will be released, either in theatres or directly onto Hulu and Disney+.
