Nine Inch Nails To Score Disney’s “Tron: Ares”
During Disney’s Entertainment Showcase panel at the D23: Ultimate Fan Event, some new details on the next instalment in the classic “Tron” franchise were revealed on the stage.
“Tron”: Ares” follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.
The movie stars Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee, Evan Peters and Jared Leto, who took to the stage and garnered huge applause from the audience—Leto, who portrays Ares, hit the stage in style alongside an iconic Lightcycle.
Cast members shared details about their characters as well as an in-room-only early look. After a sonic assault, lasers burned into the screens, which parted to reveal that the film will feature music by Nine Inch Nails, who took to the stage.
The band has sold over 20 million records and been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
The feature film is directed by Joachim Rønning and also stars Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, with Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges. It has been produced by Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Leto, Emma Ludbrook and Steven Lisberger.
“Tron: Ares” is slated for theatrical release on October 10th, 2025, and it’ll likely be released on Disney+ in early 2026 following its theatrical release.
The previous two “Tron” movies are available to stream on Disney+ now.
