New “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” Cast Revealed At D23
Disney held a special panel at the D23: The Ultimate Fan Event for the hit Disney+ Original series, “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” on Saturday afternoon in Anaheim, California.
During the presentation, the creators and stars of the Disney+ series took to the stage to discuss creating the first season of the show, but also teased what’s coming up in the second season, which recently started filming in Vancouver, Canada and is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in 2025.
The show’s main stars, Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries, took centre stage, along with Charlie Bushnell and Dior Goodjohn, plus the latest cast member, Daniel Diemer, who will be playing Tyson the Cyclops in the second season, which is based on the “The Sea Of Monsters” book.
As part of the panel, it was revealed that Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal and Margaret Cho will be appearing in the second season and will be playing the role of the Gray Sisters, who run a taxi service (also known as the Chariot of Damnation) and share one eye and one tooth between them.
Sandra Bernhard will portray Anger, the Gray Sister in charge of collecting cab fare from heroes who call upon the taxi. Anger impatiently awaits her turn to use the one eye shared between the Sisters. Kristen Schaal will portray Tempest, who currently has the coveted eye shared between the sisters and uses it to peer at the Heroes, read their future, and tease them about their crushes and social lives. Margaret Cho will portray Wasp, the main driver of the Gray Sisters Taxi. She takes the heroes on a high speed and hair-raising journey to Camp Half-Blood. Even though she’s blind most of the time, she’s truly seen it all.
In the new season, Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.
Created by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is executive produced by Steinberg and Dan Shotz alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J.
