New French Disney+ Original Series “Les enfants sont rois” Announced
Disney has announced a brand new series called “Les enfants sont rois” aka “Children Are Kings”, at a special Disney+ EMEA showcase event at Series Mania in Lille, France.
The series will consist of six episodes are is an adaption of the novel of the same name by Delphine de Vigan, which is a bestseller in France and 24 other countries.
“Children Are Kings” tells the story of what happened when a six-year-old girl is kidnapped in broad daylight, the shock wave surpasses her family circle because the girl – Kimmy – is a star whose videos posted daily are followed by millions of viewers. The investigation is entrusted to Sara Roussel (Géraldine Nakache), Chief of Brigade at the SDPJ.
In an attempt to save the little girl, Sara will have to plunge into a world from which she knows everything and enter into the intimacy of this family that has learned to live under the gaze of their community. While the “fans” of the little girl conduct their own investigation, establish theories and name their culprits, Sara irresistibly approaches Melanie (Doria Tillier), the girl’s mother. The mother will unveil her secrets and those of her entourage until she sows doubt on the real culprit…
Sébastien Marnier directed the series, which was created and written by Judith Havas and Victor Rodenbach. Benjamin Adam, who wrote the second and fourth episodes, also co-wrote the series.
This new series, produced by Habanita Federation, stars Géraldine Nakache, Doria Tillier, Oussama Kheddam, India Hair, Panayotis Pascot, Sébastien Pouderoux, Suliane Brahim, Cyril Metzger, Tom Dingler, Chantal Lauby, and Jacques Weber.
