Following the debut of Riri Williams as Ironheart in last year’s hit film Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, a new series featuring the Iron Man spin-off character was originally announced at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, that it was going to arrive on Disney+ this Fall.  However, due to a number of reasons, including Marvel spreading out its releases to save money, improve quality and reduce superhero fatigue, the show was pushed back to a later date.

While very little is known about the series, which has already completed filming, according to a new listing at the U.S. Copyright Office, the new Disney+ series is going to be getting a huge delay, as it’s currently scheduled to arrive on the streaming platform on September 3rd, 2025.  It’s worth pointing out that these copywrite listings can change, and the release date is likely to change.  There could also be some potential reshoots for the show. Plus, with the intertwining of the many films and shows within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the show might need to be held back to connect with other projects such as the new “Armor War” film.

A minor description for the first episode is also listed, confirming that the adventure picks up after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

Marvel Studios presents “Ironheart” in which charming teenage super genius Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) returns from MIT to her hometown of Chicago in her iron suit and begins to unravel threads that bring danger and adventure right to her doorstep. The adventure begins in episode 101 as Riri is introduced to the audience.

The copyright listing also confirmed that Sam Bailey has directed the first episode and also confirmed who is going to be starring in the new series:

  • Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams
  • Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins
  • Alden Ehrenreich as Joe McGillicuddy
  • Lyrics Ross as Natalie Washington
  • Matthew Elam as Xavier Washington
  • Anji White as Ronnie Williams
  • Sacha Baron Cohen as Mystery Man
  • Manny Montana as Cousin John
  • Shea Coulee as Slug

Earlier this year, it was reported that Sacha Baron Cohen was going to be starring in the upcoming Disney+ as the evil, Mephisto, who many fans had wanted to see star in the hit series, “WandaVision”.

The six-episode series is also going to be directed by Angela Barnes, with Ryan Coogler’s Proximity among the production studios involved. The show’s head writer is Chinaka Hodge, and it is being executive produced by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian, alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.

While we wait for “Ironheart”, you can catch Riri’s debut in the MCU in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, which is available now on Disney+?
