20th Century Studios is currently developing a new film, “The First Omen”, which is
a prequel to the original 1976 movie “The Omen”.

Deadline is reporting that Nell Tiger Free has joined the project. This will be her first leading role in a major studio film. She has previously starred in Apple TV+ “Servant”, “Game of Thrones” and “Too Old to Die Young”.

Arkasha Stevenson will be making her feature directorial debut for the film and will also be co-writing the film, along with Tim Smith, who will also be an executive producer. Phantom Four’s David S. Goyer and Keith Levine are producing, with Gracie Wheelan overseeing for 20th Century Studios.

Nothing has been revealed about the plot of the film. The original “Omen” film was released in 1976 and follows an American ambassador who believes his 5-year-old son is the Antichrist.

It’s currently not clear if “The Omen” prequel will be released in cinemas or if it will be released directly onto Disney’s streaming services, Hulu, Star+ and Disney+.

The original films are also available to stream now on Disney+ internationally.
