Disney announced details on “The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II”, which will be opened by Kermit, Miss Piggy and the rest of “The Muppets”.

As part of the announcement, it was revealed that fans of “The Muppets” can also see more of Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends in the upcoming Disney+ series, “Muppets Now,” premiering this summer.

Muppets Now will be their first-ever unscripted short-form series and will see Kermit the Frog is heading upstream with Miss Piggy, and the gang, bringing a new kind of mayhem and laughter to Disney+ with their first-ever unscripted short-form series, “Muppets Now.”

Last year, The Muppets shared a letter from Kermit on social media:

This show is a different project to the “Muppets Live Another Day”, which Josh Gad was involved in, which Disney cancelled.  Though since then, the team behind the show are now creating the “Beauty and the Beast” prequel series with Gaston and LaFou.

Are you excited about the return of the Muppets?

I am excited as this could lead to Disney putting more Muppet content on Disney+ if it does well. This is a great chance to show there is a demand for more Muppets.

I hope so. I know Bob Iger wasn't big on Muppet material because it wasn't his baby. Eisner bought it the year before he stepped down and while Iger may or may not have "hated" the muppets, he didn't prioritize them.
