Update – The show was confirmed at the D23 Expo Disney+ Panel, with the new logo being shown off:

Just ahead of the Disney+ Panel at the D23 Expo, the Hollywood Reporter has shared details on a new Marvel series based on “Ms Marvel” Kamala Khan is in the works for Disney+.

Marvel have apparently hired Bisha K. Ali to write and to be the showrunner for the show.  Bisha has previously worked on the new Hulu show, Four Weddings and a Funeral.

No other details were revealed and it could possibly be officially announced during today’s Disney+ panel at the D23 Expo. So it could be a while off from appearing on our screens and might be part of Phase 5.

It could also tie in with the sequel to Captain Marvel, since Carol Danvers originally was known as Ms Marvel in the comic books before becoming Captain Marvel.  Ms Marvel is also the first Marvel Muslim superhero and since her debut in 2013, has gone on to become a fan favorite.
