Moff Gideon Actor Giancarlo Esposito Teases “The Mandalorian” Season 3 Coming In Summer 2022
There are multiple Disney+ series heading to our screens this year, including “Andor” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, but according to Giancarlo Esposito, aka Moff Gideon, the third season of “The Mandalorian” is heading to Disney+ this summer.
During a recent interview on the The Rich Eisen Show to promote the final season of “Better Call Saul” , Giancarlo shared a little update on the third season of “The Mandalorian”.
“You’ll get it soon. I’ve got a little few things to do in regard to that, to put some finishing touches on what I do. I believe it’ll be sometime this Summer, no date set yet, but coming soon.“
While his comments about the show coming to our screens this summer sounds great, it’s worth pointing out that fellow “Mandalorian” star Carl Weathers, only recently revealed that filming on the third season only wrapped at the end of March. With the number of special effects required for “The Mandalorian”, getting the series out this summer, would be a faster turnaround. But still possible, as he should know more than us!
However, Disney also has “Obi-Wan Kenobi” coming out throughout May and June, plus the twelve-episode “Andor” series and the second season of “The Bad Batch”. It feels like getting “The Mandalorian” season three out so soon might be a bit tricky, but that is not to say that Disney couldn’t reshuffle its plans and push “Andor” back into a later slot this year. As initially, “The Mandalorian” season three was expected to hit Disney+ around Christmas 2022.
Hopefully, more details on when the third season of “The Mandalorian” will arrive on Disney+ will be revealed soon, possibly at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event in late May.
The first two seasons of “The Mandalorian” are available now on Disney+.
Are you looking forward to the return of “The Mandalorian”?
I don't think it will release in summer 2022. There's already 'Obi-Wan Kenobi', and I'm sure Disney won't allow two Star Wars shows premiering with new episodes at the same time. They have to streamline their content.
