Disney’s Hulu has ordered a brand new single-camera comedy series called “Murray Hill”. It will be written by Mindy Kaling, who previously worked on “The Mindy Project”.

The new comedy series revolves around five work-obsessed twenty-somethings who strive for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighbourhood, Murray Hill.

According to Deadline, Hulu picked up the rights to the series from Warner Brothers Television, which Mindy has an overall deal with. There was apparently lots of interest from multiple buyers, but Hulu was able to get the deal over the line with a script-to-series commitment.

“Murray Hill” is also going to be executived produced by Mindy Kaling, via her Kaling International company, alongside 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein. Kaling International’s Jessica Kumai Scott co-executive produces.

The project hasn’t been officially announced by Disney and it’s unclear if the series will only be available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States, or if Disney secured the global distribution rights to the series.
