Marvel’s “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” Disney+ Original Trailer Released
Disney has released the first trailer for the upcoming Marvel Animation original series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, which follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.
Check out the trailer below:
The talented voice cast includes Hudson Thames, Colman Domingo, Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy and Charlie Cox. The head writer is Jeff Trammell, and Mel Zwyer is the supervising director. Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt and Trammell serve as executive producers.
The 10-episode animated series launches with the first two episodes on January 29th, 2025, exclusively on Disney+.
Roger’s Take: The trailer does a good job in establishing that this is nothing to do with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe and is standing out on its own, as over the years, the series has changed (including its name, since it was called “Spider-Man: Freshman Year”). I love how it’s leaning in on the character’s past, with a remixed version of the classic 60s theme song and comic book feel. I’m still not 100% on board with this new series, but the trailer did a good job of elevating my interest in the show.
