Earlier this year, Disney announced that it had renewed the animated series, “Hit-Monkey”, for a second season, and this week, Disney released a teaser poster for the upcoming second season, confirming the show will return in 2024.

The adult-animated series dives into Tokyo’s underworld with HIt-Monkey. The show follows a Japanese snow monkey, aided by the ghost of an American assassin, who goes on a revenge quest and becomes the famous “killer of killers.”

The series stars Ally Maki, Olivia Munn, Fred Tatasciore, and Jason Sudeikis, with Nobi Nakanishi and George Takei. Leslie Jones is also going to star in the second season.

Originally, “Hit-Monkey” was being created by Marvel Television and was going to be part of an adult animated universe which was going to include other shows, including M.O.D.O.K, Hit-Monkey, Tigra & Dazzler and Howard The Duck, which will culminate in a special event, Marvel’s “The Offenders”.

However, during the development of the different series, Marvel Studios took control of the television division to focus on creating more interconnected series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While most of the projects that the Marvel Television division was working on ended up getting cancelled, “Hit-Monkey” was surprisingly renewed for a second season.

However, the series has gone through some changes as the Marvel branding has been removed, and now 20th Television Animation, who are responsible for shows like “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy”, have taken over making it.

The first season is available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the United States, on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ around the world.
