Marvel Studios has been filming the upcoming Disney+ series, “Daredevil: Born Again”, in New York over the past few months, and the show is currently scheduled to take all year to film due to the season consisting of 18 episodes.

The new Disney+ series will see some of the actors from the Netflix shows returning, with Charlie Cox returning to the role of Daredevil; Vincent D’Onofrio is also returning as the Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal is reprising his role of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. Also starring in the new Disney+ series will be Michael Gandolfini, Arty Froushan, Sandrine Holt, Margarita Levieva and Nikki M. James.

Today, filming on “Daredevil: Born Again” was disrupted due to the writer’s strike, which is now going into its second week. Production wrapped after 1 pm ET for the day, and no filming was able to take place due to a strike being set up and Teamsters and IATSE locals refusing to cross the picket line. Production is scheduled to continue tomorrow according to Deadline.

WGA East confirmed the impact of the strike on filming on social media:

“WGA members on strike set up a sunrise picket at Silvercup East, where they’re supposed to be filming Daredevil, but members of the Teamster Local 817 and IATSE Locals 829 and 52 are refusing to cross the picket line. ”

The new Disney+ show is being written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who cannot be on the set due to the WGA strike.

Both seasons of “The Punisher” are also available to stream now on Disney+, along with the three Daredevil seasons.
