Marvel Studios “Echo” Disney+ Series Wraps Filming
Following on from the debut of Maya Lopez in the Marvel Studios series, “Hawkeye”, as a deaf gang leader who was determined to make Ronin aka Clint Barton, pay for his own vengeful deeds. Disney announced they would be creating a new series called “Echo”, which will be coming to Disney+ in the summer of 2023.
This past weekend, actress Alaqua Cox, took to Instagram to confirm that filming has wrapped on the upcoming Marvel Studios Disney+ series, “Echo”. Where she shared an image of a message to her father confirming that filming has finished and a photo of herself with some of the cast.
This new series will tell the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.
“Echo” also stars Chaske Spencer (“Wild Indian,” “The English”), Tantoo Cardinal (“Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Stumptown”), Devery Jacobs (FX’s “Reservation Dogs,” “American Gods”) and Cody Lightning (“Hey, Viktor!” “Four Sheets to the Wind”), with Graham Greene (“1883,” “Goliath”) and Zahn McClarnon (“Dark Winds,” FX’s “Reservation Dogs”).
Episodes of the series are directed by Sydney Freeland (Navajo) and Catriona McKenzie (Gunaikurnai). Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre and Jason Gavin (Blackfeet). Co-executive producers are Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King (Seminole) and Jennifer Booth.
With Marvel Studios set to host a special studio showcase panel during the D23 Expo in September, hopefully, we hopefully might get a little update on the film. It might be too early for a trailer, but a little sizzle reel or sneak peek, could be possible. Plus, maybe confirmation that we will see the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, and Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil
You can catch the introduction of Maya Lopez in the first season of “Hawkeye”, which is available to stream now on Disney+.
Are you looking forward to “Echo”?
