Marvel Reveal Details On “Avengers: Doomsday” & “Avengers: Secret Wars”
During the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic-Con, some new details on the upcoming “Avengers” movies have been announced
These films were initially announced back at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, “Kang Dynasty” and “Secret Wars”, but due to all of the delays and major legal issues involving Jonathan Majors, there have been some major changes to the initial plans.
Marvel has revealed that “Avengers: Kang Dynasty” has been renamed to “Avengers: Doomsday” and that Robert Downey Jr is going to return, but they will be making the most of the Multiverse, as it was revealed that he will be playing the role of Doctor Doom.
On the stage, Doctor Doom walked onto the stage with a steel mask, green cape and hood, unmasking to reveal Robert Downey Jr to the crowd!
Recently it was revealed that Marvel was in talks with the Russo Brothers to direct the movies and it was confirmed on the stage in Hall H that they will be returning to direct both films.
The Russo’s company AGBO is set to produce both films alongside Marvel Studios. Stephen McFeely, known for his work on the “Captain America” trilogy and “Avengers: Endgame,” will handle the script.
“Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a life-long dream of ours, and we discovered a powerful connection with audiences in each film that we made. We’re thrilled to collaborate once again with Kevin, Lou and the entire Marvel team to bring this epic adventure in storytelling to new and surprising places for both the fans and ourselves”, said The Russo Brothers.
“Avengers: Doomsday” is set to be released in cinemas in May 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” is set to follow in May 2027. New logos for both films were also revealed.
