Martin Starr To Star In “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle” Remake
20th Century Studios is currently developing a remake of “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle”, which will star Maika Monroe, Raúl Castillo and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
In the original thriller film from 1992, Claire Bartel (Annabella Sciorr) is a busy wife, mother and career woman whose family is placed in grave jeopardy when she hires Peyton Flanders (Rebecca De Mornay), a seemingly perfect nanny with a chilling secret agenda. By the time Claire discovers Peyton’s deadly plan for revenge, it may already be too late to save herself and her family. From the absorbing opening to the unforgettable climax, this critically acclaimed winner delivers a sensational mix of thrills, chills, and surprises!
According to THR, Martin Starr has joined the cast of this remake, where he will play the role of the family’s neighbour to whom the mother turns for help.
Martin Starr has recently starred in the Tom Holland “Spider-Man” trilogy and the hit Paramount+ series, “Tulsa King”.
Michelle Garza Cervera will direct the new film, which Micah Bloomberg will write. Ted Field and his Rader Pictures production team, along with Michael Schaefer and Mike Larocca, will produce it. Michael Napoliello and Maria Frisk will oversee Radar Pictures. Filming is set to begin later this month in Los Angeles.
No official release details for the remake of “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle” have been revealed, such as if it will be released in cinemas first or directly onto Hulu and Disney+.
The original “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle” movie is also available to stream now on Disney+ in many countries around the world.
