Earlier this year, Disney Cruise Line launched a brand new ship called “Wish”, which is the fifth ship in the fleet. The “Wish” is where fantastical worlds and beloved stories from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar are brought to life like never before.

National Geographic has created a documentary called “Making The Disney Wish: Disney’s Newest Cruise Ship”, which is about the ship’s creation in Germany, and the documentary crew travelled onboard the ship during its transatlantic crossing.

Here’s the documentary’s official description:

At a shipyard on Germany’s North Sea, a marvel of modern engineering is taking shape; hundreds of construction workers, engineers, architects, designers, animators, cast and crew are transforming 144,000 tons of steel.

I expect we’ll find out more about Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, including AquaMouse, the first Disney attraction at sea.  Plus, we will see how they created new family restaurants themed on “Frozen” and Marvel; plus how they made the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge … plus much more.

It’s due to air on the National Geographic channel in the US at 9 PM on Christmas Eve, 24th December 2022. Currently, a Disney+ release, both for the US and internationally, hasn’t yet been announced, but I’d expect it to be released at some point in the future.

Are you looking forward to watching this new documentary?
