Two years ago, Disney announced that 20th Television Animation was bringing back one of its popular animated shows, “King Of The Hill” for Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally later this year.

Since then, we’ve not heard too much more about the upcoming show, but it’s been revealed today that Disney will be bringing the show to the ATX TV Festival at 7PM at The Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, on May 30th.  The event will see some of the cast and creators coming together to revisit the laugh-out-loud moments and behind the scenes stories from the original series.  The event will include co-creators and executive producers Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, executive producer and showrunner Saladin K. Patterson, and voice actors Pamela Adlon, Lauren Tom and Toby Huss.

Hulu will also be hosting a special BBQ event for Camp Badgeholders and invited guests.  They will get to see a sneak peek of the upcoming “King of the Hill” revival, followed by a backyard barbecue-style shindig where folks will feel like they’ve stepped into the Hill Family’s backyard in Arlen for the first time since the show’s finale in 2009. The after-event will showcase food and drink from Texas favorites, local brands, exclusive “King of the Hill” themed photo opps and giveaways, backyard games, and great tunes.

“King Of The Hill” is set in the fictional Arlen, Texas, followed the life of Hank Hill, an enthusiastic seller of propane and propane accessories; his wife, Peggy, local Boggle champ and substitute teacher; and their 13-year-old son, Bobby, who defies any expectation his father had for a son. Hank’s friends – conspiracy theorist Dale, military barber Bill and cool but inarticulate Boomhauer, along with Peggy’s friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy, and Bobby’s friend Connie help the Hills navigate a changing world.

This new series will be created and executive produced by original co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, as well as incoming executive producer and showrunner Saladin Patterson. Additionally, 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Howard Klein, and Bandera Entertainment’s Dustin Davis serve as executive producers of the show, which will take place in fictional Arlen, Texas, in present-day USA.

The animated series will star original voice talent, including Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick and Lauren Tom. The reboot has been in the works since the 2017 San Francisco Sketchfest, where Judge and Daniels reconnected with the cast and celebrated the 20th anniversary of “King of the Hill.”

Hopefully, it won’t be too long until everyone gets to see a preview of the revival of “King Of The Hill”.
