Kate Winslet Drops Out Of Hulu Original Series “The Spot”

Last summer, Disney announced that its studio, 20th Television, was developing a brand new series with A24 called “The Spot”, which has been created by Ed Solomon, who is behind “Full Circle” and “Men in Black”.

The series tells the story of what happened when a successful surgeon and her schoolteacher husband begin to suspect that she may be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death, their quest for truth spirals into a web of mounting suspicion and dark secrets, testing their resolve and their relationship as they confront the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal.

Originally, Kate Winslet was going to be an executive producer and star in the show, which was going to be released on Hulu and Disney+.  Kate has previously starred in major movies such as “Titanic” and “Avatar: The Way Of Water”, she has also starred in many TV shows, including “Mare of Easttown”.

However, it has been reported that Kate Winslet has dropped out of the project due to creative differences brought on by a change in the show’s creative direction.

The creators are now having conversations with other actresses to take over the role of the surgeon. Production on the series is still expected to commence in 2026, though it’s unknown when it might be released on Hulu and Disney+.
