Justin Roiland Dropped From “Solar Opposites” & “Koala Man”
The creator of the Hulu/Star Original series, “Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man”, Justin Roiland, has recently been charged with felony domestic violence against a former girlfriend.
Earlier in the week, Adult Swim announced that it was no longer working with the “Rick & Morty” creator and he would be replaced as the voice of the main characters.
Disney’s 20th Television Animation and Hulu Originals issued a statement saying:
“We have ended our association with Justin Roiland,”
Both shows are expected to continue without his involvement. “Koala Man” only recently debuted on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally. There have been three seasons of “Solar Opposites”, with more already confirmed to be on the way.
The 42-year-old has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial after being charged with corporal injury and false imprisonment by menace, fraud, violence or deceit in Orange County.
In a statement earlier this month, Roiland’s attorney T Edward Welbourn said:
“Not only is Justin innocent but we also have every expectation that this matter is on course to be dismissed once the district attorney’s office has completed its methodical review of the evidence.”
