Jordan E. Cooper To Star In Disney’s “Freaky Friday” Sequel
Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles on a sequel to Disney’s “Freaky Friday”, which will see Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman from the 2003 movie.
A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.
Also returning for the sequel is Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
New cast members joining the film include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Deadline has revealed that Jordan E. Cooper has joined the cast of the new film, though it hasn’t been revealed what role he will be playing.
Jordan has previously starred in FX’s “Pose” and BET’s “The Ms. Pat Show”.
Nisha Ganatra directs the new film, which is being produced by Kristin Burr, Andrew Gunn, and Jamie Lee Curtis, with Nathan Kelly, Ann Marie Sanderlin, and Lindsay Lohan also serving as executive producers.
The sequel will be released in theatres nationwide in 2025, before heading to Disney+ at a later date. The 2003 version, along with other versions of the story are available to stream on Disney+.
