Jesse Eisenberg & Lizzy Caplan To Star In FX’s “Fleishman Is In Trouble”
New details on the upcoming FX series “Fleishman is in Trouble” have recently been revealed by Deadline, who have reported that Jesse Eisenberg will be playing the lead male character in the series, Toby Fleishman and Lizzy Caplan will be playing the role of lead female character, Libby, who is the series’ narrator.
The series is based on the New York Times bestselling debut novel by Taffy Brodesser-Akner (who will also adapt for series), “Fleishman is in Trouble” offers an unsparing, modern take on life, love and commitment. Recently separated forty-something Toby Fleishman dives into the brave new world of app-based dating with the kind of success he never had dating in his youth, before he got married at the tail-end of medical school. But just at the start of his first summer of sexual freedom, his ex-wife, Rachel, disappears, leaving him with the kids and no hint of where she is or whether she plans to return. As he balances parenting, the return of old friends, a promotion at the hospital that is a long time coming, and all the eligible women that Manhattan has to offer, he realizes that he’ll never be able to figure out what happened to Rachel until he can take a more honest look at what happened to their marriage in the first place.
Jesse Eisenberg has previously starred in “Justice League” and “The Social Network”.
Lizzy Caplan has previously starred in “Inside Job“, “Castle Rock” and “Masters of Sex“.
Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will be directing multiple episodes. ABC Signature is creating the series and it will be available on FX on Hulu.
“Fleishman is in Trouble” is confirmed to be coming to Disney+ as a Star Original in many countries including in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
