Disney Branded Television has signed Jenna Boyd as the new SVP of Development and has been tasked with ramping up the division’s scripted series and finding new Disney+ global tentpoles.  Her role will also include supervising the production of scripted pilots for Disney+ and the Disney Channel.

Jenna Boyd has her own production company called, Field Day Entertainment and worked as the director of kids and family series at Netflix, where she was behind “Alexa & Katie”, “Julie and the Phantoms”, and “The Baby-Sitters Club”. Jenna has also worked as the SVP of Animation Development at Nickelodeon, where she worked on “Avatar: The Last Airbender”.

She will be reporting to Charlie Andrews, who is the EVP, of Live Action and Unscripted, who said in a statement:

“Jenna is a passionate and skilled executive with tremendous vision and an impressive track record of developing hit shows for kids, teens, and families. Her extensive expertise creating breakout series will be instrumental in identifying and creating big, immersive worlds, as well as new series filled with the comedy, music, and Disney magic our audiences love.”

And Jenna Boyd added:
