Ilana Glazer’s “Human Magic” Stand-Up Special Coming Soon To Hulu & Disney+
Disney has announced a brand new stand-up comedy special called “Human Magic” by Ilana Glazer, will be coming out later this year on Hulu and Disney+ as part of Hulu’s new comedy brand “Hularious”, which launches in November.
Ilana Glazer is a creator and comedian who co-created and co-starred in “Babes”, “Broad City”, “The Afterparty”, along with the Hulu Original film, “False Postive”. Recently, her comedy special, “The Planet Is Burning” was released on Amazon.
This upcoming comedy special was recorded in early May at the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre in Toronto. She has recently been on tour, playing 52 shows across 48 cities in the United States and Canada.
It was directed by Jeff Tomsic, and Rotten Science and Glazer’s Starrpix were producing it.
“Human Magic” will premiere on December 20th on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
Roger’s Take: This is the latest stand-up comedy special to be released by Disney. It is looking to take advantage of the interest in stand-up comedy, which is also much cheaper to make than scripted drama. Other recent comedy specials coming as part of this new comedy brand include Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr and Roy Wood Jr.
