Hulu/Star Original “Tell Me Lies” Released On BBC
Today, the first season of the Hulu/Star Original series, “Tell Me Lies, ” was released on the BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom, and the first two episodes are also being shown on BBC One later this evening, with two episodes being released weekly afterwards.
“Tell Me Lies” follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years. When Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences. Although their relationship begins like any typical campus romance, they quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.
Back in 2022, Disney announced that the show had been renewed for a second season, though there haven’t been any updates about a second season for a while.
This continues the trend of the BBC picking up some older Disney+ original series like “Love, Victor”, allowing the show to reach a larger audience and generate additional revenue for Disney. “Tell Me Lies” is also still available to stream on Disney+ in the UK.
“Tell Me Lies” stars Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Catherine Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, Benjamin Wadsworth, and Alicia Crowder.
The series has been created by Meaghan Oppenheimer, who serves as executive producer & showrunner. Emma Roberts, Karah Preiss and Matt Matruski executive produce under their Belletrist Productions banner, Laura Lewis, and Stephanie Noonan executive produce for Rebelle Media. Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer executive produce for Vice Media’s Refinery29. Jonathan Levine also serves as executive producer. The show has been ddapted from Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, Lovering will serve as a consulting producer.
