Hulu Picks Up “Best Offer Wins” Series
Disney’s Hulu has acquired the rights to develop a series based on the novel “Best Offer Wins” in a competitive situation with multiple bidders.
The series is based on the debut novel by former Washington Post journalist Marisa Kashino, which tells the story of Margo, a 37-year-old publicist who, after a year and a half of failed bids in her house hunting, becomes obsessed with a perfect off-market house, resorting to stalking, transposing and scheming to land the home she believes would save her marriage.
Greta Lee will be playing the lead role in the series, and Greta has previously starred in “Past Lives”.
Marisa took to social media to confirm the news:
Nabbed the absolute dream team to adapt BEST OFFER WINS for Hulu!! (I mean, what?? Is this real life??😭)
After sitting on this news since September, I couldn’t be more thrilled that it’s finally out in the world!!
The new series is going to be written by Suzanne Heathcote, who has previously worked on “Killing Eve” and “The Crowded Room”, with Chelsea McKinnies and Mackenzie Roussos from Entertainment 360 producing, alongside Marisa Kashino.
20th Television will be creating the show for Hulu and Disney+.
No other details on the upcoming series have been revealed, such as who might direct it, who else will star in it or when it’ll be eventually released once filming has completed.
